Dr. Brad Wouters Recognized for his Contributions to Radiotherapy
Dr. Bradly Wouters, Senior Scientist and Director of the Hypoxia and Microenvironment Program at OCI, was awarded the Klaas Breur Gold Medal Award from the European Society for Therapeutic Radiotherapy and Oncology (ESTRO). The Klaas Breur Award was given in recognition of Dr. Wouters major scientific contributions to the field of radiotherapy and is the most prestigious prize given by ESTRO. Dr. Wouters will receive this award and deliver the Gold Medal Lecture in Stockholm in September of this year.
Award Description
The Breur Award Lecture is named after Prof. Klaas Breur one of the founding fathers of ESTRO. As a tribute to Professor Breur’s pioneering work, ESTRO created this annual “Gold Medal“ award in his name. The Klaas Breur Award is the highest honour that can be conferred on an ESTRO member and is awarded in recognition of the major contribution made by the winner to European Radiotherapy. The recipient of this prestigious award delivers a lecture at the ESTRO Annual Meeting. The Breur Award Lecture is published in the Abstract Book of the ESTRO Annual Meeting where it is presented.
